On Earth as It is in Heaven

Lord, never having been there, my question is: What is heaven on earth to me?  Is it the possibility of man existing side by side with the animals, none preying upon the other?

Is it taking part in  the dance of the stars in heaven, of the trees  and mountains and waves in a choreographed number of beauty and wonder?

Perhaps it is our God given ability to make metaphors and to see  beyond the veil, if just a glimpse, of the eternal kingdom and all its glory.  It would seem to be a manifestation of the  glory revealed if only we can find it.

Assuredly, it is a mystery eternal in which we seek to discover the answers to  ultimate questions. It is the promise of the ages.  And it seems to be distilled and given form and meaning through the continuing testimony of the living Messiah who walked on this earth and who still resides in our hearts as we seek to know and to worship him.

I thank you Lord for launching me on this vast and wonderous journey, and pray for you to help me  stay on the path, in truth, with all life,  as I venture forth on this adventure of knowing you.

In Jesus’ presence I pray, Amen and amen
