Description: The Christian Communication Scholars Society (CCSS) is a global community of developing Christian communication scholars interested in growing and exploring the intersection between Christianity and the field of communication. CCSS encourages, equips, and emphasizes the integration of faith, communication, learning, teaching, researching, and work as graduate students and postdocs. Biblical principles that CCSS values are to love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love one another (see Matthew 22:36–40). CCSS values and culture include the following:
- Faith and communication: How the Christian worldview and biblical truth intersect with the field of communication and scholarship.
- Faith and learning: How integrating theology and communication can inform and enhance best practices.
- Faith and teaching: How the Christian worldview shapes pedagogy.
- Faith and researching: How the Christian perspective influences what and how we research.
- Faith and work: How scripture can be a guide in one’s current academic work.
- Work as a calling from God: How does our calling shape us to have a balanced life?
Mission Statement: Christian Communication Scholars Society is a global community of communication graduate students and postdocs exploring the intersection between Christianity and the field of communication. CCSS encourages, equips, and emphasizes emerging Christian communication scholars as we integrate faith with communication, learning, teaching, researching, and work.
