A Prayer for Grace-filled Memories, by C.S. Lewis

God, never let us dwell in the past so as to not be able to look forward to your grace. For the prayer never granted is the prayer requesting an encore. “And how should the infinite repeat Himself? All space and time are too little for Him to utter Himself in them once.” Rather, help us to remember those grace-filled memories and find nourishment rather than misery. As I hope to hear you speak again in the future, help me to leave “the bulbs alone, and the new flowers will come up” (C. S. Lewis, Letters to Malcolm, p. 27)
