A Prayer to Give Proper Place to the Physical and Spiritual in Our Communication, by Howard Snyder
“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.” — Psalm 119:103-04
Lord God, you have made us to inhabit time and eternity, spirit and matter. Help me to understand this sufficiently so that I give proper place to the physical and to the spiritual. Help me especially, Lord Jesus, to be more concerned and careful about my spiritual health than about my physical well-being, while maintaining a godly balance. I pray in the name of the one who promises life in its fullness, life in wholeness. Amen.
