Job Opening: Assistant Professor of Rhetoric and Communication at Seaver College

The Communication Division at the Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the assistant professor rank in Rhetoric and Communication. The successful candidate will teach courses in rhetorical theory, advocacy, and leadership, as well as additional courses in their area of research in the Communication Studies program primarily in the Rhetoric and Leadership emphasis. Developing students as global citizens with concern for communication ethics is at the center of our program’s outcomes. An emphasis on innovative and interactive teaching as well as the ability to demonstrate rhetoric’s centrality to a liberal arts education is highly desirable. An established record of strong research and teaching are also highly desired. Experience with institutional assessment and curriculum development is preferable. A Ph.D., in rhetoric or related discipline, is required; the successful candidate will possess a Ph.D. by August 1, 2018 when the position officially begins.

Pepperdine’s undergraduate Seaver College is a residential liberal arts college of just over 3,400 students situated in Malibu, California.
