Utah State University is seeking a full-time Communication Studies Lecturer for the USU Eastern Blanding Campus located in Blanding, Utah. This position will be a 9 month academic year, non-tenure track position. Responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate lower-division communication courses and serving as the advisor to the Cultural Ambassadors. We seek a talented and innovative educator who brings depth in culturally responsive practice and teaching to the position and the campus. Applicants must have a demonstrated passion for teaching and mentorship of students and the skills to engage and enrich our diverse student body.
Responsibilities: A full-time lecturer at the Utah State University will be a faculty member at the USU Eastern Blanding Campus with a focus of teaching lower-division communication courses and associated duties such as curriculum leadership, student advising, and mentorship. Duties will include being the advisor to the Cultural Ambassadors (CAs). The CAs provides opportunities for students to participate and perform dances and music of various cultural groups. These CAs become student ambassadors for the USU Eastern Blanding Campus.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a Master Degree in Communication or closely related field qualifying them to be approved to teach lower-division courses in the Languages, Philosophy, and Communication Studies Department, College of Humanities and Social Science, Utah State University. Complete a satisfactory background check per university policy.
Preferred Qualifications: Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to teach Communication Studies courses, such as public speaking and interpersonal communication. Candidates should have the ability and willingness to mentor a diverse group of students. Candidates should have a collegial orientation and the ability to complement the current strengths at the USU Blanding campus.
