Eastern University, a university of the liberal arts and sciences located in suburban Philadelphia, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track professor (open rank) in Media Studies and Digital Production, Department of Communication Studies, College of Arts and Sciences.

The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. (ABD considered) in Communication or an MFA, with specialization in visual communication or media studies, experience in digital media production, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, mentoring students, and scholarship. Specific courses to be taught by this faculty member include Intro to Mass Media, Digital Storytelling, Digital Media Production, Media and Culture, Art of Film, and Public Speaking.

The Department of Communication Studies consists of four full-time faculty members. We are seeking an individual to join us who has the disposition of a generalist and a collegial spirit as together we serve approximately 60 majors. Resourcefulness in working with digital production technology that students can affordably purchase or rent (or which they already own – e.g. smartphones) is essential.
