Marist College invites applications for a full-time position to teach in the B.A. in Media Studies and Production major which includes two concentrations: Television & Film and Interactive Media & Game Design as well as a new major with the School of Computer Science and Math in Games and Emerging Media. The position is tenure-track and will start in the 2016-17 academic year.

The position carries a teaching load of 21 credits a year, service to the college responsibilities, and expectation of continuing research and/or creative work in the candidate’s area of expertise leading to tenure and promotion. Courses that need to be covered include Introduction to Media Studies, History of Electronic Media, and more specialized upper level theory courses in television, film and/or interactive media, Capping, and the required sophomore level Writing for the Media course as well as Introductory and Advanced Screenwriting. Ability to teach production or the introductory course Digital Toolbox would be a plus.

Qualified candidates for the position will hold a Ph.D , M.F.A. or other terminal degree in Media Studies, Communication, or a relevant field, and have teaching and/or professional experience. Candidates with significant work toward degree completion may be considered. Candidates with significant professional experience in media or writing/production are encouraged to apply.
